A large straining unit can be made easily with two buckets, as are
readily available at most hardware stores. One bucket must have 1/4" holes
drilled into the bottom of it. Be certain put as many holes as is
reasonably possible. This is the "top bucket". The other bucket must have
a means for liquid to escape from it. This can be done by installing a
spigot or simply putting a hole on the side of the bucket near the
bottom. A spigot is recommended.

The top bucket fits into the bottom bucket, and now you have a strainer.
